Stefanie Moy

Software Developer

Oakland, CA - USA

Stefanie is a software engineer with over 10 years of experience working with technology companies. Her career started as technical client support for a SaaS fintech company, transitioning to integration manager integrating partners using SOAP over XML webservice technology, and now as an agile software developer. On the engineering front, Stefanie is experienced with Python, Flask, Javascript, and JAVA. She is an advocate of test-driven development to create simple, extensible, and elegant code. Stefanie is passionate about XP practices and having an agile mindset.

Stefanie joined a development team at Ford that launched and supported 5 microservices in less than a year, which was unprecedented for that department. Her team implemented continuous integration and deployment pipelines, which allowed code to be pushed into production as quickly as possible. Business users felt very confident that issues could be quickly identified, addressed, and rapidly released soon to ensure that business processes were not impacted for long periods of time.

Most recently, she was working with a legal tech startup in California, where she jumped in to help streamline their deployment to their clients. She helped teams improve their C# micro tests in their WPF application, automated Powershell scripts to reduce manual testing, helped test new and existing features before release, and replicated difficult edge cases through extensive use of the desktop application. She coached teams on story mapping and making user stories tie back to the user and business needs. She encouraged pair and mob programming, cross-team collaboration, and action over deliberation.

Stefanie graduated from the University of California at Davis with a Bachelors of Arts in Linguistics and a Bachelors of Science in Managerial Economics. She was a software engineering fellow at Hackbright Academy in San Francisco, CA. She is often planning her next trip to a Disney theme park.
