Penny Appleton is an agile coach who works with leaders and teams to help them deliver valuable software safer and faster. With over 15 years of software development experience from product management to engineering, she brings a unique perspective to software delivery. She is passionate about development practices that promote collaboration, feedback loops, and learning.
Penny believes in challenging the status quo and that amazing things happen when we let go of “I can’t” and “it’s always been done that way” and start saying “I’m not sure how to, but let’s figure it out together”.
Penny has worked in many industries including insurance, utilities, real estate, and airlines. At American Airlines, she helped mainframe teams embrace continuous integration and continuous delivery and completely change the way they work and think about delivering software. You can check the white paper “Implementing DevOps for TPF mainframe” (published May 2021) sharing this journey.
While not working, Penny enjoys spending time with her family in Texas & on the west coast, training her silly boxer in agility, and playing slowpitch softball.
