Dave is an accomplished and results-driven Senior Agile Coach with over 20 years of experience in guiding organizations through successful Agile transformations and over 35 years in software development. He has a proven track record of driving process improvements, enhancing team collaboration, and delivering high-quality software products.

Most recently, Dave led multiple teams in delivering world-class products for the live video production industry. He drove improvement in processes and technical practices across many product teams through facilitation of product discovery sessions, release planning, and coaching on a wide array of agile practices. He worked directly with the teams to implement automated testing for legacy code to enhance code quality and maintainability. Dave also created and delivered a 5-day onsite Product Leadership workshop for the Production Workflow group’s Product Owners and worked with the Production Workflow group’s leadership team to develop OKRs for their agile transformation.

Dave possesses a deep understanding of multiple agile processes such as Extreme Programming (XP), Scrum, Kanban, DevOps and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) and is adept at coaching and mentoring teams at all levels of the organization, from individual developers to senior executives. Dave is capable of comprehending and effectively conveying both the overarching perspective and the intricacies of issues and is committed to fostering a culture of continuous improvement and delivering value to customers.

Dave is a co-founder of the Ottawa (Canada) XP Group, and continues to be an active writer, speaker and advocate of agile methods in Canada. When not fighting to keep the cat off his keyboard while working, he enjoys the outdoors, running and is almost as passionate about software as he is about flying!
