What We Do

We begin by assembling your project's users, managers, operations people, QA staff and all of the developers for three to five days. Anyone who is not a developer is considered to be a customer. Once everyone is together, we help create your first Release and Iteration Plans by helping you:
  • Write Stories
Customers write what we call stories. This involves identifying the largest chunks of behavior desired in your system and writing down very brief stories about them. Each story is described on a post-it note and attached to an index card, which contains the story header. Some teams generate about 30 to 100 stories.

  • Estimate
Next, the developers estimate every story using a simple estimation technique. If a story is too big to estimate, the developers ask the customers to split the story.

  • Choose Stories
Once all stories have been estimated, the Customer chooses which stories will go into the Release or Iteration plan, based on the estimates provided by the developers.

Ofcourse, that's just a brief summary of the steps. By having us facilitate your first Release & Iteration Planning meetings, you will really understand how this process works and your project will benefit from it.
